Large, it is good for crushing large pieces of material, but because of the large gap between the ball and the ball, the relative surface area is small, the extrusion and milling effects are weakened, which is unfavorable to the ball mill output and the fineness of the milling. There are too many small-diameter steel balls in the cylinder, and the impact force is small, which will reduce the output of the ball mill. At the same time, due to the relative increase of the surface area of the steel ball, the wear of the steel ball will increase, and the power consumption will increase.
During the operation of the ball mill, the weight and diameter of the steel ball are continuously reduced due to wear and tear, so it is necessary to regularly add new balls to maintain a certain ball load. Generally, the large diameter ball is added, and the ball filling amount should be determined according to the steel ball wear rate and the amount of grinding powder. After the ball mill runs for a certain period of time, the number of small diameter steel balls in the cylinder increases. Therefore, after about 3000 hours of operation, the steel ball needs to be shut down to clean the ball and the broken ball with a diameter of less than 15mm, and at the same time make up the new ball.
